The Ultimate Power Play: Coach x WNBA — Where Fashion Meets Game Day

By: Jasmine Caccamo

As someone who grew up an athlete in the early 2000s, I can’t even begin to count how many memories I have tied to Coach. The mini shoulder bag? A rite of passage. The wristlet? Practically a dorm room essential. Coach was THE bag you took out when you were finally "grown" enough to hit the town with your girls in college. Fast forward to now, years later, as a stylist and creative director working at the intersection of fashion and sports, seeing Coach align with the WNBA feels like the full-circle moment we’ve all been waiting for.

Coach’s new multiyear partnership with the WNBA isn’t just a marketing play — it’s a cultural statement. It’s bold, intentional, and stylish. And above all, it’s rooted in purpose.

This collab is about so much more than handbags, it's about storytelling — the kind that happens when powerful women show up as their full selves, on the court and on the carpet. Coach has long championed self-expression, and through its “Courage to Be Real” platform, the brand continues to encourage women to take up space authentically. Now, they’re bringing that same energy courtside.

Coach x WNBA is also strategic in the best way possible. By tapping into the rising cultural cachet of women’s sports, Coach is investing in the future, not just of fashion, but of female storytelling. They’re not just showing up with bags in hand. They’re bringing platforms, visibility, and a deep commitment to inclusivity. As the presenting partner of WNBA Pride, they’re amplifying these voices in the game and beyond.

Let’s talk about the looks for a second, because these weren’t just outfits — they were moments.

Paige Bueckers showed up in a custom, hand-embellished three-piece Coach suit that honestly looked like it could walk the Met Gala carpet with over 200,000 glass crystals which made this a full-on work of art. It was a nod to her poise and power; structured, sophisticated, and absolutely BOSS.  She carried it with such ease, reminding us all that strength and sparkle can exist together.

Hailey Van Lith brought the heat in a custom Coach mini dress that felt like a fresh remix of ‘90s cool-girl energy. The silhouette was clean and elevated, with modern detailing that played up her fearless, no-nonsense presence. Paired with a sleek heel and soft glam, the look struck that perfect balance of sporty and chic.

And then came Aneesah Morrow, who turned heads in an all-leather Coach ensemble that was EVERYTHING. Her custom leather moto-style look was  structured, edgy, and commanding. The decision to go full leather was not only a fashion flex, but a major power move. The outfit was paired with bold statement accessories and a crossbody Coach bag in black, coordinating with her edgy boots and minimal jewelry that kept the vibe strong and easy. Aneesah’s look gave off a confident, "I’m not here to blend in" energy — and in the best way possible because she didn’t. It was unapologetic, intentional, and totally on brand for a player stepping into her spotlight.

Having styled athletes across major leagues, I know firsthand how much fashion can elevate not only one's image, but impact. This isn’t just a branding opportunity; it’s an invitation for the world to see these players as the icons they truly are. And who better than Coach, a brand that’s been a staple in women’s lives for decades.

Coach has always been ahead of its time. From its 1941 beginnings to the present, it has evolved with the modern woman — celebrating her, styling her, and standing by her. And today, as they partner with one of the most exciting leagues in sports, they’re proving once again that fashion and sports can (and SHOULD) sit at the same table.

To the girls who once wore their Coach wristlets to practice after parties — we’ve made it. And now we’re styling the game from the sidelines to the spotlight.
